Objective To study the effect of parecoxib sodium on postoperative cognitive function in elderly patients with general anesthesia. Methods 82 Patients for elective gastrointestinal surgery from Feb. 2014 to Feb. 2015 were randomly divided into a control group (41 cases) and an observation group (41 cases). Patients in both groups were routinely anesthetized, and after induction, 2-2.5% sevoflurane was inhaled to maintain anesthesia, rocuronium and sufentanil were injected i.v. at the same time, and propofol was continuously injected to maintain anesthesia. After surgery, the control group received i.v. injection of sodium chloride solution 2mL at 0.5h after surgery, the observation group received i.v. injection of parecoxib sodium 40mg + sodium chloride solution 2ml. Before and after the operation, the MMSE was used to evaluate the cognitive function status of the two groups, and the changes in vital signs before and after surgery were monitored, and the occurrence of adverse reactions was recorded. Results There was no significant difference in the cognitive function scores of the two groups before and 2, 5, and 7 days after the operation (P > 0.05), and the systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation of the two groups before and 2, 5, and 7 days after the operation were not statistically significant (P > 0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group (12.20%) was slightly lower than that in the control group (17.07%), but the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Conclusion Parecoxib sodium has no significant influence on postoperative cognitive function in elderly patients with general anesthesia, and has good safety.
