[0267] To a stirred solution of 5-cyclopropylisoxazole-3-carboxylic acid (0.750 g, 4.90 mmol) in DCM (5 ml) was added oxalyl chloride (1.68 ml, 19.60 mmol) and 2 drops of DMF. The reaction was stirred at RT 2 hr. After complete consumption of starting material, the solvent was removed under reduced pressure to obtain 5-cyclopropylisoxazole-3-carbonyl chloride as a residue (0.6 g, crude).
