The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature, under nitrogen for 15 minutes, and then 4-(chloromethyl)-3,5- dimethylisoxazole (154 mg) was added. The reaction mixture was then stirred at 500C1 under nitrogen for 24 h. Water (0.5 mL) was then added to the reaction mixture, and the solvent was removed by evaporation. The residue was then suspended in THF (1 mL) and ethanol (1 mL), and 2M lithium hydroxide solution (2 mL) was added. The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 20 h, before being neutralised with 2M HCI (2 mL) and partitioned between water and dichloromethane. The layers were stirred for 30 minutes, and then separated using a hydrophobic frit. The organic phase was concentrated by evaporation to give a residue which was then purified by ISCO Companion C18 chromatography eluting with a gradient of acetonitrile (containing 0.05% formic acid) in water (containing 0.1% formic acid) to give the title compound.
