Reaction of a Heterocyclic Amine with Phosgene to Form an Isocyanate, then Reaction with Substituted Aniline; Step 1. 3-tert-Butyl-5-isoxazolyl Isocyanate; To a solution of phosgene (20percent in toluene, 1.13 mL, 2.18 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (20 mL) at 0¡ã C. was added anh. pyridine (0.176 mL, 2.18 mmol), followed by 5-amino-3-tert-butylisoxazole (0.305 g, 2.18 mmol). The resulting solution was allowed to warm to room temp. over 1 h, and then was concentrated under reduced pressure. The solid residue dried in vacuo for 0.5 h.
