(1,2-Benzisoxazol-3-yl) diphenyl phosphate (I) [94820-31-2] was prepared in high yield by the reaction of 1,2-benzisoxazol-3-ol [21725-69-9] with diphenyl phosphorochloridate [2524-64-3] in the presence of Et3N in C6H6. I was useful for the preparation of amides from carboxylic acids and amines. The direct polycondensation of several dicarboxylic acids with aromatic diamines using the activating agent I in the presence of Et3N proceeded slowly at room temperature to produce polyamides with inherent viscosities ≤1.2 dL g-1.
