EXAMPLE 2: 4- [ (5-methyl-3-phenyl)-4-isoxazolyl] benzenesulfonate sodium salt. (step lb) The sulphonic acid obtained in example 1 is dissolved in 185 ml water and sodium chloride (37 g, 0.6324 mol) is added portion wise at a temperature of 25-30 C. The turbid reaction mass is then cooled to 0-5 C, stirred for 2 h and filtered. The wet material is then washed with chilled water (74 ml) and dried at 70-75 C under vacuum for 8-10 h to yield white solid. (38 g, HPLC purity =99.5%, Moisture content = 4.6%)
