The HPLC assay utilized a reversed-phase C18 column, a mobile phase consisting of a mixture (55:45) of (A) buffer potassium dihydrogen phosphate (0.05M) containing sodium lauryl sulfate (0.005M) and (B) MeCN. A fluorescence detection was used with λex 237 nm; λem 374 nm. The accuracy, precision and sensitivity of the proposed method were established. Standard curves were linear with respect to concentration in the range 0.05-7.5 μg mL-1. The method also allowed the separation and identification of related compounds at concentrations <0.01%.
