Quality Control of 3,5-Dimethyl-4-nitropyridine 1-oxide. Aromatic compounds can be divided into two categories: single heterocycles and fused heterocycles. Compound: 3,5-Dimethyl-4-nitropyridine 1-oxide, is researched, Molecular C7H8N2O3, CAS is 14248-66-9, about Absorption and phosphorescence spectra of 4-nitropyridine N-oxides and 4- and 3-nitroquinoline N-oxides. Author is Yamakawa, Masumi; Kubota, Tanekazu; Ezumi, Kiyoshi; Mizuno, Yoshiko.
SCF-MO-CI calculations were used to facilitate interpretation of the absorption, phosphorescence, and phosphorescence excitation spectra of 4-nitropyridine N-oxide (I), its 3-methyl and 3,5-dimethyl derivatives, and 3- and 4-nitroquinoline N-oxide. For I, the phosphorescence lifetime, the degree of polarization of the phosphorescence and excitation spectra, and the single-triplet energy gap were studied. The main feature of the absorption at long wavelength was intramol. charge-transfer from the O of the NO group to the NO2 group. The nature of the lowest triplet state was discussed, this state resulting from a π-π* transition and being 3A1 for I. The phosphorescence spectra exhibited a blue shift on changing the solvent from Et2O to Me2CHOH.
