The resulting mixture is stirred for 20 min and then 4-ethoxy-1-isothiocyanato-2-nitrobenzene (see Dyson, G. M.; George, H. J.; Hunter, R. F. J. Chem. Soc. 1927, 436-445) (0.22 g) is added. The resulting mixture is stirred for 30 min, concentrated to dryness, taken-up in EtOAc, washed with brine, and purified utilizing preparatory HPLC. Yield 9%.
