To a solution of (3,5-dimethylisoxazol-4-yl)methano3 (1.00 g, 7.86 mmol) in CH2CI2 (20 mL) at 0 C was added Dess-Martin periodinane (4.17 g, 9.83 mmol) over 10 min and the reaction mixture was warmed to rt. The reaction mixture was stirred at rt for 60 min and then filtered through CeHte* and washed through with 0??. The organic layer was dried over N82SO4, concentrated, and purified by column chromatography (15% EtO Ac/hex anes) to provide the title compound (0.450 g, 46%). T NMR (400 MHz, DM80-d6) delta ppm 9.92 (s, 1H), 2.68 (s, 3H), 2.3′ (s, 3H).
