The title reaction was catalyzed with high enantioselectivity by a planar chiral ferrocene based palladacycle III in high to excellent yields. It is showcased that the products are valuable for post-synthetic transformations. An SN2 reaction proceeded with smooth inversion of the absolute configuration. The substitution product II (R1 = Ph, R2 = Bn) could then be transformed into an α-azido β-aminoacid derivative IV via a reductive, diastereoselective ring opening.

We have synthesized different nonlinear optical responsive chromophores with imidazolidine-2,4-dione, pyrimidine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-trione and 3-phenyl-2-isoxazolin-5-one as acceptors. With these, a series of crosslinkable polymers were synthesized using phenylenediacryloyl chloride, tolylene-2,4-diisocyanate and 4,4′-methylenedi(Ph isocyanate). The mol. structural characterization of these polymers was achieved by FTIR, UV-vis, 1H NMR and elemental anal. The inherent viscosities of these polymers (η inh) determined by Ubbelohde viscometer, were in the range of 0.26-0.29 dL/g. Thermal behavior of these polymers was studied using differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric anal. The glass transition temperatures (T g‘s) of the resulting polymers were in the range of 97-175 °C. The change in the mol. alignment in the polymer films after elec. poling was ascertained by at. force microscopy. The resulting polymers exhibited an excellent solubility in many of the common organic solvents, suggesting that these polymers offer good processability. The second harmonic generations (SHG) coefficients (d33) of poled polymers determined by Maker fringe technique were in the range of 44-109.07 pm/V at 532 nm, signifying the acceptability for nonlinear optical devices.

The postoperative analgesia effect of parecoxib Na and flurbiprofen axetil in children undergoing endoscopic adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy was comparatively studied. Sixty children, aged 5-8 yr, scheduled for endoscopic adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy under general anesthesia were randomly divided into group A (parecoxib Na), group B(flurbiprofen axetil), group C (normal saline) (n=20). Parecoxib Na 1 mg/kg and flurbiprofen axetil 1 mg/kg were administered i.v. 15 min before the start of operation, meanwhile children in group C received normal saline. The extubation time, agitation occurrences, recovery period pain scores, remifentanil dose, and side effects were observed and compared. There was no difference between the three groups in operation time, extubation time, and remifentanil dose (P>0.05). The emergence of postoperative agitation was 5% in group A and group B, 55% in group C, which was significantly lower in group A and group B than in group C (P<0.01). The pain scores of group C were significantly higher than those in group A and group B (P<0.01). The emergence of nausea and vomiting was 5% in group C. Applying parecoxib Na and flurbiprofen axetil in children undergoing endoscopic adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy can provide a good analgesia effect, reduce postoperative agitation, and do not postpone the extubation time.

In this communication the MHIRC transformation of 4-benzylidene-3-phenylisoxazol-5(4H)-one and 1,3-dimethylbarbituric acid in the presence of N-bromosuccinimide and sodium acetate in EtOH at room temperature was carefully investigated to give novel 1,3-dimethyl-3′,5-diphenyl-1,5-dihydro-2H,5’H-spiro[furo[2,3-d]pyrimi- dine-6,4′-isoxazole]-2,4,5′(3H)-trione I in a good yield. The structure of the new compound was confirmed by the results of elemental anal. as well as mass, NMR and IR spectroscopy.

Two new small mol. dyes for the donor material, named IDTT-OX and IDTT-EPMP-IDC have been successfully synthesized and characterized for solution-processed bulk heterojunction organic solar cells (OSCs). These dyes are containing indacenodithieno[3,2-b]thiophene (IDTT) as the donor moiety, phenylisoxazolone (OX) and malononitrile derivatives (EPMP-IDC) as the acceptor. IDTT-OX exhibits a strong self-aggregation behavior and broad absorption with an optical band gap of 1.88 eV. While IDTT-EPMP-IDC shows different behavior, the self-aggregation of IDTT-EPMP was efficiently restricted by the presence of the alkyl group at EPMP-IDC functional group in the mol. and it has 1.60 eV optical bandgap. The inverted-type OSCs based on the blend of IDTT-OX (or IDTT-EPMP-IDC) as a donor, PC71BM as an acceptor are fabricated. The power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of the optimized OSCs are reached up to 0.29% for IDTT-OX and 2.07% for IDTT-EPMP-IDC.
