The iron-catalyzed alpha-C-H alkylation of N-methylanilines without any directing group by cross-dehydrogenative coupling between unactivated C(sp3)-H and C(sp3)-H bonds has been established for the first time, which provides a good complement to C(sp3)-H activation reactions and expands the field of Fe-catalyzed C-H functionalizations. Many different C(sp3)-H bonds in cyclic alkanes, cyclic ethers, and toluene derivatives can be used as coupling partners. Mechanistic investigations including the radical reaction process, the main role of various reagents, and the kinetic isotope effect experiment were also described.

A method allowing the selective oxygen labelling of aliphatic polyacids, for example, succinic and glutaric acids, is reported. This process is based on the hydrolysis of a 3-alkyl-4-nitroisoxazol-5-yl group by Na18OH and affords the products in high yields. The same procedure was applied for the preparation of labelled aliphatic carboxylic acids.

The review presents the first analysis and systematic discussion of data published in the last 35 – 40 years on the use of molybdenum compounds and complexes in organic synthesis and catalysis of various ion coordination and radical reactions. Detailed account is given of the key trends in the use of molybdenum complexes as catalysts of alkene epoxidation and oxyketonation, oxidation of sulfur, nitrogen and phosphorus compounds, hydrosilylation of 1,3-dienes, ketones and aldehydes, hydrostannylation of acetylenes and hydrogermylation of norbornadienes. Considerable attention is paid to the description of new reactions and in situ generation of highly reactive hypohalites, ROX and HOX, induced by molybdenum complexes and the use of hypohalites in oxidative transformations. Data on the application of molybdenum complexes in well-known reactions are discussed, including Kharasch and Pauson – Khand reactions, allylic alkylation of C-nucleophiles, aminocarbonylation of halo derivatives and oligomerization of cyclic dienes, trienes, alkynes and 1,3-dienes. The last Section of the review considers ‘unusual’ organic reactions involving molybdenum compounds and complexes.

The reactions of N,N-dimethyl-p-anisidine (1a), N,N-dimethylaniline (1b), and N,N-dimethyl-p-fluoroaniline (1c) toward secondary anilines 2(a- d)-H in the presence of thallium triacetate sesquihydrate have been studied as representative of a novel oxidatively activated aromatic substitution affording 1,4-benzenediamine derivatives 3a-d. All of the substrates considered gave substitution with diphenylamine (2d-H). However, with anilines 2b,c-H, only 1a underwent substitution, and substrates 1b,c were practically unreactive. The observed differences in reactivity are well accounted for within a mechanistic framework wherein oxidative activation of both the substrate and the secondary aniline is regarded as alternatively (or simultaneously) possible, depending on the redox characteristics of the reactants. For instance, it can be stated, beyond any reasonable doubt, that reactions of 1a with 2b,c-H proceed via nucleophilic attack of the latter on 1a+., and that the reaction of 1a-c with 2d-H must involve the diphenylamino radical 2d·.

Synthetic Route of 288-14-2, Chemistry is the science of change. But why do chemical reactions take place? Why do chemicals react with each other? The answer is in thermodynamics and kinetics. In a document type is Article, and a compound is mentioned, 288-14-2, Isoxazole, introducing its new discovery.

A first-principle method has been successfully developed for the prediction of pKa values of aromatic heterocyclic compounds in DMSO solution with a precision of 1.1 pKa units. Comparison of theoretical results and experimental data (where available) also shows excellent consistency. Armed with this useful approach, the pKa values for a series of aromatic heterocycles were calculated in DMSO. Moreover, a discussion of the relationships between hydrogen acidities and molecular structures is conducted for the first time (determinants of C-H acidities, substituent effects, and some practical use of dehydrometalation). These statistics could be useful for synthetic chemists to design proper routes for introduction of aromatic heterocyclic moiety, especially when dehydrometalation reactions are used.

Synthetic Route of 36958-61-9, The reaction rate of a catalyzed reaction is faster than the reaction rate of the uncatalyzed reaction at the same temperature.36958-61-9, Name is 5-(Bromomethyl)-3-methylisoxazole, molecular formula is C5H6BrNO. In a Article, once mentioned of 36958-61-9

A series of 3-, 4- and 5-aminomethyl isoxazoles and isoxazoles with one or two additional methyl groups at the heterocycle were synthesized in order to investigate the structural requirements, ie heterocyclic moiety, regiochemistry and length of an aminoalkyl unit, for muscarinic activity. This was assayed on isolated rabbit vas deferens (M1 receptor subtype) and isolated guinea-pig atrium (M2 receptor subtype) and ileum (M3 receptor subtype). The isoxazoles tested are one to three orders of magnitude less active than furane or oxadiazole derivatives, having similar structural characteristics except for the heterocycle. Thus, the differences in molecular point charges and charge distribution contribute to the muscarinic activity of these compounds more than small differences in molecular shape and conformational energies.

A kinetic study of the hydrolysis of anilide acetals ArC(OMe)2NMeAr’ is reported. At high pH (>10) a pH independent C-O cleavage reaction is observed producing methanol and benzimidatonium ion; the latter is further hydrolyzed to amide and ester products.Substituent and solvent effects support a simple ionizaiton mechanism with a transition state near the ion.At pH <10, the anilide acetals hydrolyze to benzoate ester, aniline, and methanol in a reaction involving initial nitrogen protonation and C-N cleavage to a dialkoxy carbocation and aniline. At pH 7-10 this reaction shows specific H+ catalysis attributable to pre-equilibrium protonation followed by rate-determining cleavage.Estimation of the pKa of the protonated anilide acetal (-1) provides an estimate of its rate of C-N cleavage (ca.108 s-1) which is near the diffusion limit. At pH <7 there is a change in the rate-determining step in product formation in this C-N cleavage reaction, and what is observed kinetically is the decomposition of the hemiorthoester ArC(OMe)2OH, the product of hydration of the dialkoxy carbocation. The principal piece of evidence for the changeover is the observation that the rate constants in acid solution are independent of the aniline moiety of the anilide acetal.
