The chemical follow-up reactions after one-electron oxidation of p-anisidine (PA), N-methyl-p-anisidine (MPA), and N-benzyl-p-anisidine (BPA) in acetonitrile (AN) were analyzed with a stopped-flow method utilizing the electron-transfer reaction with the tris(p-bromophenyl)amine (TBPA) cation radical. The reactions of these p-anisidine derivative cation radicals in AN were found to be faster than that of N,N-dimethyl-p-anisidine (DMPA) cation radical, which proceeds via the acid-base interaction between DMPA ?+ and DMPA. In addition, while the rate law of the decay reaction of DMPA?- was expressed as -d[DMPA?+]/ dt = k[DMPA?+]-[DMPA], that of PA?+ has been determined to be -d[PA?+]/dt = k[PA?+] 2[PA] when PA?- was generated in the presence of PA. On the other hand, in the case that PA?+ was quantitatively formed without PA via equimolar mixing with TBPA?+, the rate was determined to be -d[PA?+]/dt = k[PA?+] 2. Also, for the reactions of MPA?+ and BPA ?+, the rate laws were identical to those of PA ?+. From these results, the reaction mechanisms and the effects of the methyl groups on the reaction kinetics of the p-anisidine derivative cation radicals in AN were discussed.

33282-15-4, Name is 5-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)isoxazole-3-carboxylic acid, belongs to isoxazole compound, is a common compound. Application In Synthesis of 5-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)isoxazole-3-carboxylic acidIn an article, once mentioned the new application about 33282-15-4.

Transfer of nitroso groups, so-called transnitrosation, from aromatic N-nitroso compounds such as N-nitrosoureas, N-nitrosamides and N-nitrosamines, to aromatic amines or ureas was observed under non-acidic conditions at room temperature. Sterically hindered 3,3-dibenzyl-1-(4-tolyl)-1-nitrosourea (1a) rapidly nitrosates indoline, N-alkylanilines or 3-methyl-1-(4-tolyl)urea to give their N-nitroso derivatives. In the case of N,N-dimethylanilines, nitrosative demethylation occurs to give N-methyl-N-nitrosanilines. The transnitrosation is accelerated by electron-releasing groups on the nitroso acceptors, N-alkylanilines. The transnitrosation mechanism is considered to be as follows: N-nitrosourea (1) thermally decomposes to nitric oxide and ureidyl radical followed by formation of an O-nitrosoisourea intermediate (10), which acts as an NO-carrying agent and nitrosates anilines or ureas.

Electric Literature of 33282-15-4, A catalyst don’t appear in the overall stoichiometry of the reaction it catalyzes, but it must appear in at least one of the elementary reactions in the mechanism for the catalyzed reaction. 33282-15-4, Name is 5-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)isoxazole-3-carboxylic acid, molecular formula is C10H7NO4. Photochemical reaction of variously substituted p-toluenesulfonanilides was studied. The reaction gives rearranged products, o- and p-amino-substituted diaryl sulfones with the combined yields of 38-72%: the p-isomer is more favored over the o-isomer with the selectivity ratio of 1.1-4.3 depending on the substituents. N-Alkylation of the sulfonanilides increases the yields of the rearranged products, and e-withdrawing substituents on the N-phenyl ring does not lower the yields drastically. This study provides simple methodology for the synthesis of o- and p-aminoaryl sulfones which are otherwise not easily accessible.

A detailed examination of the synthesis of functionalized 6,11-dihydro-5H-benzo[b]pyrimido[5,4-f]azepines 4 is described. Base-promoted aromatic nucleophilic substitution of 5-allyl-4,6-dichloropyrimidines 1a-c with different N-substituted anilines and indoline gave the corresponding aminolysis products 3a-p, which on acid-promoted intramolecular Friedel-Crafts cyclization produced the target polysubstituted 6,11-dihydro-5H-benzo[b]pyrimido[5,4-f]azepines 4a-p in moderate to very high yields. An efficient two-step protocol to access a new series of polysubstituted 6,11-dihydro-5H-benzo[b]pyrimido[5,4-f]azepines from readily available 5-allyl-4,6-dichloropyrimidines is described for the first time.

A new family of stereoconvergent cross-couplings of unactivated secondary alkyl electrophiles has been developed, specifically, arylamine-directed alkyl-alkyl Suzuki reactions. This represents the first such investigation to be focused on the use of alkyl chlorides as substrates. Structure- enantioselectivity studies are consistent with the nitrogen, not the aromatic ring, serving as the primary site of coordination of the arylamine to the catalyst. The rate law for this asymmetric cross-coupling is compatible with transmetalation being the turnover-limiting step of the catalytic cycle.

The potential catalytic activity of selected C,N-chelated organotin(IV) compounds (e.g. halides and trifluoroacetates) for derivatization of both dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and diethyl carbonate (DEC) was investigated. Some tri-, di- and monoorganotin(IV) species (LCN(n-Bu)2SnCl (1), LCN(n-Bu)2SnCl.HCl (1a), LCN(n-Bu) 2SnI (2), LCNPh2SnCl (3), LCNPh 2SnI (4), LCN(n-Bu)SnCl2 (5), L CNSnBr3 (6) and [LCNSn(OC(O)CF 3)]2(mu-O)(mu-OC(O)CF3)2 (7)) bearing the LCN moiety (LCN = 2-(N,N-dimethylaminomethyl) phenyl-) were assessed as catalysts for reactions of both DMC and DEC with various substituted anilines. The catalytic activities of 4 and 7 for derivatization of DMC with p-substituted phenols were studied for comparison with the standard base K2CO3/Silcarbon K835 catalyst (catalyst 8). The composition of resulting reaction mixtures was monitored by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, GC and GC-MS techniques. In general, catalysts 1, 3 and 7 exhibited the highest catalytic activity for all reactions studied, while some of them yielded selectively carbonates, carbamates, lactam or substituted urea.
